What is the purpose of Prairie Women On Snowmobiles?

The purpose and objectives of the Prairie Women On Snowmobiles is to raise the much needed funding for breast cancer research and to focus attention on breast cancer awareness. PWOS also showcase the recreation of snowmobiling and aid the economic impact and winter tourism potential of this recreation.


What is the Mission 2017 Ride?

A cavalcade of 10 female volunteers with their sleds will travel approximately 1400 kilometres across Saskatchewan in six days, raising funds for breast cancer research and promoting breast cancer awareness.  Individuals and groups are encouraged to join in the ride as they pass through your community.


Who can participate?

To qualify for Mission 2017

  • Be a current member of the Prairie Women On Snowmobiles.
  • Fill out the Rider Application, Medical Information, and Waiver Forms and return to Head Office.
  • Own a sled and be familiar with riding a sled on all terrains - ditch, field and trail.
  • Be able to ride over 225 kms per day.
  • Be able to speak in public and be sympathetic and heartfelt to those afflicted with Cancer.
  • Have a current tetanus shot and clear with your doctor that you are able to do a Mission of this type.
  • Raise a minimum of $3,000.00 in paid donations prior to the ride.
  • Be nineteen years of age or older.
