Welcome to my Cancer Fighters fundraising page
I am a Cancer Fighter!
My mother, Susan was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in mid-October and the minute I got that news, the realism of cancer hit me hard. There wasn't a day that went by where I wasn't thinking about my mom and I wished I could be with her during this difficult time.
Unfortunately that wasn't the case as I live two provinces away from her. The number one fear I had when I moved from Manitoba at the age of 18 was something happening to my family and I couldn't be there for them.
Obviously being away from my mom has been tough, but seeing how strong she has been over the past couple of monthes is what keeps me going to this day.
The only way that I know how I can help my mom is raising funds to put a stop to cancer and finally put an end to this fear that has affected so many people. Thats why i have decided to fundraise through March and April and then cut off my hair to be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Most people that know me, know that I cherish my locks, which I have worked on for close to four years, but whenever someone told me to cut my hair, I always said that I would when it was long enough to donate. Now is that time.
I know it isn't a whole lot, but it is the best way for me to give back to the people that are helping save my mom's life, so please donate anything you can to help the cause and put an end to cancer.
Help me as I support the fight for life against cancer!
I am participating in a community-based fundraising event to support the Canadian Cancer Society's life-saving work as a cancer fighter.
The money raised from this event helps the Society fund leading-edge cancer research, advocate for healthy public policies, offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families, and provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Every donation takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support.
